Essential oils are natural oils that are extracted from plants by steam distillation, through manual expression or though solvent extraction.
Each essential oil contains aroma compounds or the characteristic fragrance of the plant they were extracted from.
Most of the essential oils extracted from plants are high in antibacterial, anti fungal and antiviral properties. These properties make them popular for healing and everyday cleaning!
When using essential oils, you have the opportunity to increase your overall well-being. Essential oils are used in three main ways;
- Applied to the skin.
- Inhaled.
- Ingested.
Sensoria products and accessories are recommended to be used through skin application and inhalation methods. We offer a variety of inhalers and diffusers that work extremely well with our signature blends and essential oils.
Since essential oils have a very tiny molecular size, It makes them easily absorbed by our bodies.
Skin Application
When properly diluted, essential oils can be massaged into the skin. The combination of the small molecular size of essential oils and the permeability of our skin, makes skin application an easy way for us to enjoy the benefits of essential oils.
Inhalation:
Inhaling essential oils through the nose or mouth by use of inhalers or diffusers is another easy way to enjoy the benefits of essential oils.
Essential Tips!
- Never apply pure essential oil directly to your skin. It should always be diluted first to prevent an unwanted reaction.
- Essential oils can last up to 5 to 10 years if stored properly (citrus oils will lose their potency after 1 or 2 years).
- Essential oils should be stored in dark glass bottles and kept out of direct sunlight.
