Dr. Marie Perkins, OTR/L, LMT, DOM, Dipl. Ac.
Dr. Marie Perkins, OTR/L, LMT, DOM, Dipl. Ac. is one of the most recognized practitioners in Palm Harbor as a “non-pharmaceutical” pain specialist.
Born and raised in Quebec City Canada, Dr. Perkins received her Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy from University Laval in 1993. Her passion led her to leave everything behind and immigrated to Florida in 1995. She proceeded with acquiring her Massage Therapy license from Bahkti Academy in 1999 and her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2004.
Her goal for founding East West Healing Solutions was to be a pioneer in the community working at bridging the gap between Eastern and Western Medicine. She has established strong partnership with Medical Doctors, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, Orthopedic Surgeons, Neurologists, Pain Management Physicians, Doctors of Chiropractic, Rehabilitative Specialists, Athletic Directors, Coaches and Personal Injury Attorneys in the community proving not only that it can be done but also that a cohesive team approach is often the most efficient way to help a patient..
“Over the years I have continued to add to my knowledge in order to be able to help as many patients I possibly could. Most of the time, a joint effort from Western and Eastern Medicine is required to obtain optimal health. For that reason, patients should proactively seek a team of highly trained professionals in various fields, all working toward one common goal; the PATIENT’S best interest. Your health portfolio should be built with the same concepts as your financial portfolio; diversification is the key!, Dr. Marie Perkins tells her patients.”
Aside from offering Traditional Acupuncture to Palm Harbor patients, her clinic also offers several other complementary treatments such as Herbal prescriptions, Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxibustion, Diathermia, Dry Aqua Massage, Cold Laser Therapy, Medical Massage and Postural Analysis among others. Dr. Perkins also develops customized, personal healing and health plans for each patient at East West Healing Solutions.

Vimutta Yulia Shevchenko
“Yulia’s” initial background is in classical ballet, modern dance, and jazz. She was a member of several dance companies in her native Ukraine. One of her most influential teachers of choreography was Lora Petrova, founder of Style, an innovative contemporary school of dance with a unique style and approach to teaching movement.
After moving to the U.S. in 1996 Yulia taught dance at multiple studios and spent several years in close collaboration with accomplished classical ballet dancers and teachers, Elena Martinson and Andrei Ustinov.
Yulia’s fascination with various forms of physical movement led her to martial arts and yoga.
She began consistently practicing yoga in 1999 and has been teaching it since 2005. Yulia obtained her first yoga teacher certification with Wendy O’Lenic in 2005 and completed her 200-hour training with Ally Ford in 2009.
Yulia is also a professional linguist, conference interpreter and a contractor with the U.S. Department of State. This gives her an opportunity to travel and learn from teachers and colleagues from all over the world. Her own teaching style is eclectic and includes many influences. Yulia’s focus in class is on mindful movement and breath, on helping each student improve their body awareness, gradually build strength, flexibility, increase vitality and enjoy freedom of movement.
Yoga and Meditation Instructor
A dancer since she was a little girl, (ballet, jazz, clogging, salsa) Ingrid also found yoga to be amazing in her recovery after a potentially crippling injury rendered her unable to walk, let alone dance. Ingrid began her yoga practice in the summer of 2006 as a way to find peace and centering. What she found in yoga, was a calming, self-restorative, and healing for her body – heart – mind. What started as a healing activity quickly became a part of her everyday life. She believes nothing has a more profound impact on one’s emotional, mental, and physical state than yoga.
The idea of yoga as a practice and a lifestyle towards better physical, mental, and emotional health is what prompted Ingrid to enroll in the yoga teacher training at Pose by Pose Yoga under the tutelage of Yogi / Owner, Jennifer Leavy where she graduated in October 2015, with her 200 hrs. Ingrid is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance.
